The Opportunity

Ulteig is currently seeking qualified candidates for a Proposal Developer - Transportation & Water within Enterprise Operational Services (EOS). The Proposal Developer will serve as an individual managing the scope and fee development for technical proposals. Additionally, this role will research, analyze, write, and edit project proposals and documents to ensure they meet client requirements and differentiate Ulteig's service offerings. The Proposal Developer will collaborate with sales, technical services, project managers, and other internal staff to provide support for research, schedule management, compilation, and maintenance of project proposals and other documents used in proposal development process. This individual also updates the proposal database containing document templates, and forms.

What You'll Do

  • Serve as an internal project manager for the proposal process. This individual is responsible for coordinating all activities related to the proposal process for specified opportunities.
  • Support Transportation and Water opportunity pursuits as assigned, including existing client and new client sales.
  • Review proposal requests to determine what information and documentation is required.
  • Collaborate with pursuit team on proposal responses. Discusses requests for proposals with the pursuit team to understand the requirements for the requested document(s).
  • Research, analyze, plan, assemble, write, and edit proposals and documents that are informative and persuasive while conforming to guidelines, templates and the company's branding standards and writing style.
  • Utilize the proposal database for content to serve as the basis for responses to proposals.
  • Collaborate with key internal stakeholders including external and internal client solutions staff, technical engineering, project management, marketing, and legal to gather required data, prepare proposals and manage deadlines.
  • Collaborate on assignments for content for specific questions and follows up to ensure that required content is obtained.
  • Assemble and edit technical proposals in electronic or print format. Assure that proposals and proposal responses are complete, clear, and cohesive by utilizing editorial judgment and making recommendations to contributing authors for revisions.
  • Review drafts of proposals and other related sales documents to ensure proper messaging, accuracy, consistency, and quality according to company and marketing guidelines. Prior to releasing documents as final, submit working drafts to stakeholders as appropriate for final review and revision. Makes necessary revisions in documents.
  • Organize, update, and aids in the maintenance of electronic sales database library containing document templates, forms, proposal resources, completed proposals, planning, and pursuit activity. Creates and updates documents and templates as directed, utilizing good design and data management principles. Work with subject matter experts to keep library up to date with the latest information.
  • Aid in troubleshooting missing and invalid data with sales team members. Serve as a resource to the sales team to access the document library, including distribution of documents, retrieval, and version control.
  • Coordinate information flow and documents with internal contract and marketing groups to ensure sales team follows corporate guidelines and policies.
  • Attend meetings, keeps informed of changes in products, services or processes that may result in inaccurate or outdated sales documents.
  • Work in conjunction with product marketing staff to request updated information on an ongoing basis. Aid in the maintenance of updated information on RFP database.
  • Support client solutions, project management and technical teams to ensure smooth transition from sales prospect to project execution.
  • Work on multiple opportunities as needed.

What We Expect from You

  • Degree in Communication, Marketing, or Technology (Bachelor or Associates).
  • Two or more years of work experience, preferably in the Transportation and Water industry.
  • Determines proposal concepts by studying requests for proposals and attending proposal kickoff meetings.
  • Gathers proposal information and coordinates submissions.
  • Follow proposal writing standards.
  • Follows Shipley Color Review proposal process.
  • Leads with the development of proposals by assembling information including deliverables, project approach, schedule, staffing, budget/estimate, writing/editing drafts with support from stakeholders.
  • Leads proposal kick off meetings.
  • Experience communicating and collaborating with sales, technical resources and other internal staff.
  • One or more years of experience creating proposal responses or equivalent documentation preferred.
  • Basic Microsoft software packages (Word, Xcel, Outlook, PowerPoint); Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Illustrator); Microsoft Teams.
  • No supervisory responsibilities
  • Customer Relationship Management (CRM) knowledge and experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively coordinate, plan, monitor and manage multiple projects.
  • Ability to deliver high-quality output(s) while handling multiple tasks/priorities under specific time constraints.
  • Must have authorization to work permanently in the US.

Additional Opportunity Details:
Compensation Range is Generally +/- 15% of Position Mid-Point of $86,800
